About Us
We are a committed team that holds a firm belief that education should both be a stimulating experience and a rewarding investment enriching both the individual and the society. However, we have serious doubts about the the value of the technical education system as it is being imparted, allowing for some exceptions.
We are convinced that e-learning can transform distance learning, especially in technical fields and play a very important role in realising its full potential instead of being a degree / diploma distribution mechanism that it is becoming.
We are committed to developing engaging e-learning and promote enhanced interaction using accessible technology. We at Vidyaweb, however, realise that too much reliance on technology and exciting visuals may distort the curriculum by focusing students' attention on the entertaining and provocative features of the presentation rather than encouraging thoughtful analysis of their underlying meaning.
Long term goals of Vidyaweb include imparting e-learning for the technical streams, primarily IT while striving for:
- developing an environment where the distance learners are able to share their backgrounds and experiences openly
- making the content delivery method intuitive with an easy learning curve
- motivating the e-learners for playing active roles and independently taking responsibility for their learning
- making the e-learners aware of the new patterns of communication, both asynchronous like forums and real-time like chat, to be used in the distance programme
- Informing and sensitising the e-learner to varied cultural backgrounds of fellow participants
